Brian Hofer

Mr. Hofer has more than fourteen years of law firm experience assisting in business formation, contract law, and general civil litigation matters, including landlord-tenant, construction, employment, and real estate disputes, family law, and business permit and conditional use applications and appeals. Mr. Hofer has an undergraduate degree in economics from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Juris Doctorate from the University of San Francisco School of Law.

Mr. Hofer has worked extensively with Municipal, County, and State legislative bodies and law enforcement throughout California to create privacy and use policies regulating surveillance equipment and data sharing. He is the inaugural Chairperson of the City of Oakland’s Privacy Advisory Commission, and has been a featured speaker at forums organized by the California Department of Justice, RightsCon, HOPE Conference, and Berkeley Law School.

Mr. Hofer joined the staff of Gould & Hahn in 2015 and applies his legal assistance expertise gained while working with governmental institutions in the defense of Gould & Hahn clients.
